Abstract:
The composition and phase structure of high-percentage (>50 wt % Ni) nickel-alumina catalysts for methane decomposition at 550 °C was studied. The main stages of catalyst preparation (precipitation, drying, thermal decomposition, reduction) are analyzed. The dependence between the extent of catalyst coking and the alumina content was found to exhibit a maximum at similar to 10 wt % Al2O3.
