Abstract:
The influence of the components on catalyst properties was examined for Fe-M-O catalysts (M = Cr, Mn, Zr, Ce, La). There is no interaction of components in bulk samples; the main phases are α-Fe2O3; at higher temperatures, besides α-Fe2O3, LaFeO3 and solid solutions based on α-Cr2O3 and MnOm (M = Mn, Zr, Ce) are formed. When supported on α-Al2O3, there is no interaction of these components with the support. Increasing catalyst dispersion by supporting on α-Al2O3 results in an increase in n-C4H10 oxidation rate. The rate in the diffusion regime depends on the fraction of pores with radius >1000Å and on the active component concentration profile across the catalyst grain.
