Abstract:
Using the lattice-gas model, Nagai [Phys. Rev. Letters 54 (1985) 2159] has found that the desorption rate is proportional to the factor 1/(1−θ), where θ is the surface coverage. In this communication, the conditions of applicability of the model presented by Nagai are discussed. In particular, it is shown that the factor 1/(1−θ) has no physical significance at θ → 1.
