Abstract:
The adsorption and oxidation of propylene were examined on MoO3 catalysts prepared from tetra-π-allylmolybdenum, ammonium paramolybdate, and [Mo(OEt)5]2. Acrolein formation occurred only when O was present, i.e., by an associative mechanism.
