Abstract:
Using the mathematical modeling and thermodynamic analysis, we have considered the principal aspects of a possible thermochemical processing of biomass (cellulose, as an example) to hydrocarbon fuels via its gasification followed by the Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis. A high-temperature biomass gasification occurs in the autothermal regime in the presence of water and oxygen. We used the literature data to create the hydrocarbons synthesis kinetics. Maximum yields of the target products are analyzed with regard to the biomass gasification conditions.
