Abstract:
The formation, stability, and reactions of benzene radical cations on ZSM-5 zeolites, were studied. Thermodn. parameters (ΔG°298) of ion-mol. reactions between the neutral benzene and the formed radical cations were determined The initial ESR spectra after benzene adsorption at 253 K was shown. On heating to 293 K,the concentration of radical cations decreases as a result of chem. reactions whose initial product is the biphenyl radical cation. Benzene radical cations are shown to be the intermediates in the process of its polycondensation at T < 420 K.
