Abstract: The phase composition and state of the vanadium cations in the vanadium-antimony catalysts of different compositions before and after the reaction of methylpyrazine ammoxidation were studied by XRD, IR, ESR, and V-51 NMR. Vanadium antimonate had the lowest selectivity in the series of binary compositions. At Sb/V > 1, a solid solution of the tetrahedrally coordinated V5+ ions in Sb6O13 was the most selective, and at Sb/V < 1, the vanadium pentoxide was the active component.
