Реферат: Chemical properties of a new form of surface oxygen (a-form) resulting from N2O decomposition on Fe-containing ZSM-5 zeolite were studied in the stoichiometric reaction with methane at room temperature. A possibility to perform repeated cycles of selective oxidation of methane to methanol, which can be extracted from the surface and quantitatively determined by chromatography, was demonstrated. Experiments with isotopes excluded the accidental formation of methanol from other sources. An effect of the concentration of ex-oxygen on the degree of its reaction with methane was found. The possible association of this phenomenon with special features of the localization of active sites in a microporous space of the zeolite was considered. a-Oxygen, because of its unique reactivity, can be considered as an analog of the active oxygen of methane monooxygenases, which are responsible for the biological oxidation of methane.
