Abstract:
The main regularities of benzene hydrogenation over sulfided Ni, Mo and Ni, W catalysts in the absence of sulfur compounds in feedstock are studied. It is shown that the catalytic activity increases upon exposure to the reaction medium and reaches the activity level corresponding to that of the catalysts pretreated in hydrogen at the optimum temperature. The activity of the Ni,W catalysts rises slowly during a long period (up to 30 h), whereas the activity of the Ni, Mo catalysts increases more rapidly (1-3 h) and then decreases. This change in the catalytic activity is reversible and allows one to perform benzene hydrogenation under nonsteady-state conditions.
