Abstract: Formation of tin dioxide pore structure has been studied under various hydrogel precipitation conditions. Desired volumes of micro-and mesopores can be obtained when the pH and precipitation temperature are controlled. A relationship between the initial salt hydrolysis rate and the oxide phase nucleation rate appears to be of key importance. Peculiarities of thermal treatment of tin dioxide xerogel are shown.
