Abstract: A simple kinetic model for the partial oxidation of hydrocarbons on two types of sites was used to study the factors influencing the selectivity to the desired product. It is possible to increase the selectivity significantly by regulating the ratio of the surface concentrations of partial and deep oxidation sites by a periodic temperature treatment.
