Abstract: Multinuclear magnetic resonance (17O,31P, 209Bi) was used to study hydrolyzed bismuth-containing perchloric acid solutions and their extracts with di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid in organic solvents. The poly nuclear complex [Bi6O4(OH)4]6+ was characterized by 17O NMR. According to 31P NMR, extraction of this complex with a di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid solution resulted in its further condensation to form the {[Bi6O4(OH)4]R6}n complexes of definite composition.
