Abstract: Water vaporization-condensation and melting-solidification equilibria were studied for the calcium chloride-water system dispersed in pores of KSKG silica gel. The isobars of water sorption were measured by the thermogravimetric technique, and the isotherms and isosteres were calculated for water vapor partial pressures of 8.6-133 mbar and temperatures 25-130°C. The isosteric heats of water sorption were obtained at water contents of 1 to 10 mol per one mole of CaCl2. The differences between sorption equilibria in the disperse and bulk states are discussed. The melting-point curves of the system were obtained by differential scanning calorimetry in the range of CaCl2 concentrations 0-49.0 wt %. The melting temperatures were found to be lower by 10-30 K than in the bulk system. The obtained data can be used to estimate changes in the properties of the material studied caused by the transition to the disperse state and the feasibility of using this material in thermal absorption vacuum pumps and systems for air conditioning and dehumidifying.
