Abstract:
A study was made of the influence of support on the degree of dispersion and catalytic properties of supported oxides. It was found that when cobalt, manganese, and iron oxides are deposited on porous metallic materials (nickel, Nichrome, titanium, and stainless steel) changes of the specific surface and specific catalytic activity of the active oxides occur. The main cause of such changes in most cases is support-oxide interaction, accompanied by transfer of metal ions from the support into the oxide lattice. The lattices of active oxides are deformed. Their structure and phase composition are altered.
