Abstract: Complexation processes occurring during the title oxidation in HOAc in the presence of LiCl were studied by electronic and ESR spectroscopy. The I2 is activated toward the olefin by complexation with Cu chlorides to form CuCl2·I2 and possibly CuCl·CuCl2·I2.
