Abstract:
The kinetics of sulfide particle formation was studied on SiO2 gel, having grafted Mo(C3H5)4 complexes, in reaction with H2S. With increasing dispersion of the formed Mo sulfide surface complexes, the catalytic activity in thiophene hydrogenolysis increases. The surface sulfides, having electronic states different than those of MoS2, exhibit the highest specific catalytic activity.
