Abstract: Applied molybdenum-aluminum catalysts (10 and 25% by weight MoO3) obtained by impregnation of γ-Al2O3 with a solution of ammonium paramolybdate were investigated by IR spectroscopy with the aid of compensation for the support. It is shown that a heteropoly compound of molybdenum and aluminum that is stable up to 773 degree K and is responsible for the presence of strong Bronsted acidic centers that protonate ammonia and propylene molecules is formed on the surface of 25% MoO3/Al2O3.
