The isomerization of n-butane to isobutane at 673 degree K was studied on metal-zeolite catalysts Pd0/Me2 plus NaY and Pd0/Me2 plus CaNaY, where Me2 plus equals Ni2 plus , Co2 plus , Mn2 plus , and Ca2+ . It was shown that the rate of polymerization depends on the strength and concentration of the aprotic sites, formed by isolated Me2 plus and Ca2 plus cations. An equation was obtained for the dependence of the specific activity on the strength of the sites, characterized by the heats of adsorption of carbon monoxide (Q//C//O).
