Abstract:
The possibility of using Zr Mζ ultrasoft x-ray radiation in an XPS study of model catalyst systems is discussed. This approach is more sensitive to changes occurring in external surface layers than is the traditional method using Al Kα radiation. The Zr Mζ method can be used to study the electronic state of the active component in the reaction medium and impurity segregation, and also to determine component ratios in the catalyst external surface layer.
