Abstract: The kinetics of the catalytic reduction of SO2 with methane is studied in the presence of Al2O3 with a grain size of 5 mm within the temperature range 740 - 840°C. Rate constant values are determined. The model suggested is compared with the kinetic model for small catalyst grains, which has been derived previously.
