Abstract:
The kinetic data on ethylene polymerization on highly active titanium-magnesium catalysts are presented. The kinetic curves of diverse shapes are found for the catalysts that differ in particle size and in the content of electron-donor modifying additives. A mathematical model for polymerization is proposed, which involves the kinetic scheme for formation and deactivation of active sites and takes into consideration monomer diffusion in polymer particles. The parameters and constants of individual stages of the polymerization process are determined by correlating experimental data and results of modeling.
