Methods for calculation of the difference intensity curves and the difference curves of radial distribution, applied to heterophase systems, are proposed. The methods can be used in an express procedure for obtaining the radial distribution functions. The structure-sensitive segment of the curve of scattering intensity is separated by means of approximating B-splines. Model and real catalysts Pt/NaY and Mo/γ-Al2O3 are studied. Anchoring of Pt(0) carbonyl on alumina is found to be favorable for the formation of a disperse platinum compound. The structure of this compound remains invariable during reductive and oxidative treatments. Feasible models for the structure of the surface compounds are proposed.
