Abstract: A method is proposed for the quantitative analysis of platinum distribution over the regions of silica gel surface formed by different sizes of pores. The analysis has been based on determining the change of platinum surface (S/S0)Pt and of the carrier surface (S/S0)c for different degrees of occupation of the pore volume by condensed water phase. The platinum distribution has been determined in the form of the function (S/S0)Pt/(S/S0)c equals f(R) (where R is the pore radius) in Pt/SiO2 catalysts with different structural porosity. Data have been obtained on the nonuniform distribution of platinum over regions of carrier surface formed by pores of different sizes.
