Abstract: The substructural characteristics and catalytic properties of platinum blacks and aluminum-platinum catalysts with different degrees of dispersion of the metal in the deep oxidation of methane and butane have been studied. It is shown that the difference in the specific catalytic activity of solid and supported metals are determined mainly by the spillover of intermediate activated particles from the platinum to the surface of the support.
