Abstract: Calcination at 623-​723° of Cu, Zn, and Cr hydroxide carbonates coprecipitatd from aqueous solutions of mixtures of the respective nitrates in the presence of carbonates gave 3 types of Cu oxide-​containing compounds: 1) anionically modified Zn oxide and a solid solution of Cu and Cr ions based on it; 2) anionically modified Cu oxide and a solid solution of Zn and Cr ions based on it; and 3) anionically modified Cu Zn chromite of spinel structure and a solid solution of Cu and Zn oxides based on it. The solubilities of the oxides and the temp. boundaries for the existence of the solid solutions based on the anionically modified oxides were studied, and the role of Cr in the catalysts was discussed.
