Abstract: Possible ESR evidence for electronic conduction in reduced rutile or anatase is discussed. Supporting Pd on TiO2 followed by reduction lowers the electronic work function of the Magneli phases TinO2n-​1 formed during TiO2 reduction and prevents their oxidation in O2 at 300 K.
