Abstract: The mechanism of formation of propylene glycol monoacetate in the oxidation of propylene by molecular oxygen in a PdCl2/CuCl2/HOAc system was studied. The formation of olefin-palladium-cuprate complexes in the reaction solutions was established using NMR, EPR, and electron spectroscopy methods.
