Abstract:
Quantitative data on the number of active centers are very informative for the formulation of concepts on mechanism of catalytic polymerization and for interpretation of polymerization kinetics. Systematic study of the effect of the catalyst composition and the polymerization conditions on the number of active centers and their reactivity (rate constants of different steps of overall polymerization process) is important for understanding: i) the role of various components of catalytic system in the formation of active centers; ii)the plausible composition of active centers; iii)the mechanism of separate polymerization steps; iv)the possible reasons for the increased activity of supported catalysts in comparison with conventional Ziegler-Natta catalysts.
