Abstract:
It has been shown previously that on Ti-Mo catalysts prepared from ammonium paramolybdate and TiO2, a heteropolyacid (HPA) is formed determining their catalytic properties in propylene oxidation. The formation of HPA on the surface of Mo-containing catalysts is of principal importance for elucidating the nature of active state of molybdenum. Therefore, it was of interest to establish the possibility of HPA formation in Ti-Mo catalysts using comparative studies of these catalysts and a TiO2-supported Ti-Mo HPA by IR spectroscopy to identify the structure of HPA.
