Abstract: X-ray analysis has revealed that at pH=7.5–12.0 similar amorphous Fe(III) hydroxides are formed. Their structural peculiarity is the presence of local regions with ordered arrangement of atoms typical for α-FeOOH in the volume of primary particles. Ageing at pH=7.5 and 353 K leads to structure rearrangement to α-Fe2O3.
