Abstract: The effect of lateral interactions on preexponential factors is discussed in the framework of a lattice-gas model. For weak interactions the dependence of the desorption rate constant on coverage is defined mainly by a smooth variation of activation energy, the preexponential factor changes insignificantly. Strong interactions lead to strong dependences of the preexponential factor on coverage. Some experimental results revealing strong dependency of the preexponential factor on coverage are discussed.
