Abstract: The high temperature (T ≳ 300 K) thermal desorption spectra for hydrogen from Pt(100) are characterized by a shift of the peak maximum to higher temperatures with increasing initial coverage and by narrow peak widths. These features are explained by the adsorbate-induced surface reconstruction.
