Abstract: On the example of the first-order reaction and the process of formation of methanol-free formalin the steady-state regimes of an adiabatic catalyst bed and a tubular reactor have been studied under the assumption that the hydraulic resistance of the bed is fixed. It has been shown that in this case there may be a multiplicity of solutions and that the parametric sensitivity of the steady-state regimes to the fluctuations of the inlet conditions and of the characteristics of the porous medium is higher.
