Abstract: The acidity of the proton-acid centers of zeolites Y and amorphous aluminosilicates was detected by electronic spectra of adsorbed Ph2CHOH, 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl alc., benzalacetophenone, anthraquinone, C6H6, 4-nitrotoluene, and 2,4-dinitrotoluene. The acidic strength of the aprotic-acid centers was detd. by ir spectra of adsorbed Me2CO, MeCN, and pyridine. The zeolites and amorphous aluminosilicate exhibit a comparable acid strength.
