Abstract: Stationary and nonstationary state kinetic parameters were detected for H2O2 decomposition on thin Mn oxide layers on Pt at 15-35°. Catalytic activity and electrode potentials were detected for MnO2, Mn2O3, Mn3O4, and MnO. Under stationary state conditions, the degree of oxidation and surface structure of Mn oxide layers are independent of temperature, [H2O2], and the presence of KCl or Mn2+ in solution; the oxide surface is single phase. H2O2 enters the elec. double layer as a neutral mol. Catalytic activity depends on local surface properties.
