Abstract: Kinetic data for the oxidation of C2H4 by H3+nPMo12-nVnO40 (n = 0-4) in the presence of PdSO4 indicated that the rate-determining step was the oxidation of Pd(0)-C2H4 complexes. The Pd2+ existed as an aqua complex, and the heteropoly acid existed in equilibrium with vanadate and molybdate anions.
