Abstract: The title conversion occurred with considerable rate at the temp. 50-70° in aq. F3CCOOH solution containing an excess of PPh3 and Pd(OAc)2 as the starting Pd compound. For the successful conversion of CO it was necessary to keep a high PPh3 concentration in the solution. At low mol ratios PPh3/Pd a rapid decrease of the activity of the contact solution was observed
