Abstract: The kinetics of the catalytic liquid-phase oxidation of CO by O were studied in the presence of Pd-PPh3 complexes by using 18O2 and H218O. The mass-spectroscopic analysis of oxidation products showed that the oxidation involves reduction of Pd(II) to Pd(PPh3)4 in acidic H2O-dioxane solutions and (Ph3P)PdO2 complexes in neutral H2O-dioxane solutions
