Abstract: The formation of the V catalyst structure during melting of the active component was analyzed by taking into account the effect of capillary forces and the corresponding mechanisms of melt redistribution and catalyst-support structure deformation. With increase of the temp. and duration of thermal processing the formation and growth of nonporous aggregates, filled with active-component melt, takes place. The growth of the aggregates causes an increase of interaggregate pores at a small change of total porosity. A relation between catalyst-structure changes and catalyst activity was established
