Abstract: Formation of strong H bonds and proton transfer was studied for a series of N bases adsorbed on zeolite HNaY. The 1st step in proton transfer is formation of a strong H bond between N base and zeolite surface OH groups. As basicity increases, H bond stability increases and eases protonation of the adsorbed N base.
