Abstract: The influence of process parameters on the reaction rate has been investigated many times; see for example [1, 2]. These questions were again subjected to detailed examination in [3]. In our opinion, however, the results of this sort of analysis were not organized in accordance with a detailed reaction mechanism; moreover, this work was not addressed to the task of providing a complete set of kinetic characteristics of one class of reaction or another. Our work is addressed specifically to these questions. As an object for our investigation we have taken the "simplest" of the complex catalytic reactions, a single-pathway reaction with a mechanism that is linear relative to the intermediate products. We will investigate the influence of reaction parameters (primarily temperature) on the reaction rate. Subsequently we will investigate the influence of the reactant partial pressures and the total pressure of the reaction mixture.
