Abstract: The structure of aluminum hydroxides (pseudoboehmites) obtained by different methods and having different physicochemical properties was investigated by the wide-angle X-ray scattering method. Data on the change in the layer structure in pseudoboehmite were obtained, which contradict the generally accepted concepts about the retainment of the pseudoboehmite layer structure upon incorporation of additional water molecules. © 2007 by Allerton Press, Inc.
