Abstract: The gas-chromatographic retention of pyridine, β-picoline, 3-pyridinecarbaldehyde, 3-pyridinenitrile, nicotinic acid, and nicotinamide on polar stationary phases was studied. A scheme was proposed and a procedure was developed for the determination of the reaction components of the catalytic oxidation of β-picoline to nicotinic acid on a column (3 m × 3 mm) packed with Chromosorb WAW + 10 wt % FFAP. The separation time was 28 min. The detection limits were 0.01 and 0.37 ppm for 3-pyridinenitrile and nicotinic acid, respectively
