Abstract: Ammonia synthesis on nitrides CeN, UN1.70 and iron catalyst CA-1 has been examined at pressures of up to 100 bar. Reaction kinetics is described by the Temkin-Pyzhev equation. Activation energy for all samples is similar and equals about 200 kJ/mol. Specific catalytic activity of nitrides is lower than that of the iron catalyst by a factor of 3–4 for uranium and 10 for cerium.
