Abstract: Relations of the molecular weight of polyethylene prepared on a chromium oxide catalyst to the polymerization period and ethylene concentration at 60, 70, 120, and 140 oC were studied. Results show that spontaneous transfer and transfer with monomer take place during the polymerization of ethylene on a chromium oxide catalyst. A drop in the polydispersity of the polymer obtained takes place with increase in the polymerization temperature.
