Abstract: Development of natural gas from gas hydrates is complicated by the necessity of heat transfer to the hydrate bed. A possibility of catalytic heat generation in situ in the hydrate bed by partial oxidation of methane with atmospheric oxygen is discussed. The estimations show that only 10-20% of methane should be combusted to generate heat necessary for methane hydrate decomposition. The methods of wet natural gas separation to methane, and higher CX fractions are considered. Our experience in pressure swing adsorption in a complex adsorbent bed is discussed. In addition the methods of methane storage during transportation are discussed.
