Abstract: Three series of M/TiO2 (M = Pt, Pd or Au) photocatalysts with metal content varied from 0.01 to 4.0 wt. % were synthesized by deposition and subsequent chemical reduction of metal precursor compounds. Modified TiO2 samples were tested in the reaction of CO oxidation in a static reactor at ambient conditions with or without UV irradiation. The rate of CO oxidation under UV irradiation was 1.5-5 times greater than the rate of oxidation without lighting if we compare the different metals used for modification. It was demonstrated that in the case of Pt/TiO2 and Pd/TiO2 samples CO photooxidation rate increased with increase in the metal content up to an optimum level. The rate of CO oxidation for the most active sample in each series increases in the following sequence: Au/TiO2<Pd/TiO2<Pt/TiO2, wherein Pt-containing sample in 6-fold more active compared to other samples
