Abstract: In this paper the experimental results of a lab-scale module working with the composite sorbent SWS-IL (CaCl2 impregnated in mesoporous silica gel) are presented and analysed. The device allows us to simulate the working conditions of a typical sorption cooling cycle. The influence of the desorption and condensation temperatures is discussed. The results obtained show that the use of SWS-IL for adsorption air conditioning can provide high thermodynamic performance while the dynamic of the cycle (i.e. the cycle duration) should be improved by acting on the design of the metal heat exchanger.
