Abstract: Multicomponent compounds containing bismuth, iron, cobalt and nickel molybdates are the base of com. catalysts for the partial oxidation of propylene, isobutene and for ammoxidation of propylene. Their high activity and selectivity are usually attributed to the fact that the catalytic reaction proceeds on the coherent interfaces of pure molybdate phases. We think that these multicomponent compounds are highly active and selective at the partial propylene oxidation due to modifications of β -cobalt (nickel) molybdate and trivalent iron molybdate phases by other components of these catalysts. The reaction medium effect on these phases has been also investigated.
