Abstract: Supported Ru catalysts are studied in the liquid phase oxidation of acetonitrile, dimethyl formamide and carbamide by oxygen at T= 433-533 K, P= 2.0-4.0 MPa. Same catalysts were tried in the processing of waste waters (Luther water) from the alcohol producing plant at T= 403-473 K, P= 1.5-2.5 MPa. Experiments were done using a high pressure stirred tank [l]. Studied were conversion of low-boiling (Cl-Cs) alcohols and aldehydes and selectivity of their oxidation to CO2 and H20 as well as conversion of N-containing compounds and selectivity of their oxidation to CO2, N2 and H20. Catalysts performance was tested at various temperatures and reaction times. Catalyst Ru/Sibunit is shown to be efficient in Luther water oxidation (ATOC= 97.5% at T= 423 K, tr = 1 h), in oxidation of carbamide (XCO("2)2 = loo%, Sc02 = loo%, SN2= 71% at T= 473 K, tr = 2 h) and acetonitrile (X= loo%, Sco2= loo%, SN~7=5 % at T= 493 K, tr= 1 h). Catalyst performance in the liquid phase oxidation of dimethyl formamide allows a 100% selectivity of its oxidation to N2 at T> 260 OC. On catalyst RUlCly-A1203 same selectivity is attained at T= 220 "C. Moreover, Cly-A1203 used as support improves the activity of Ru catalyst in acetonitrile oxidation.
